Vasily Bovkun, a Ukrainian citizen and lieutenant who served as the head of the medical unit of the Azov special forces, was sentenced to 18 years in a strict regime colony. He was convicted under Article 205.4 and Article 205.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for participation in a terrorist community and training for terrorist activities.

Бовкун Василий Алексеевич родился 6 марта 1989 года, гражданин Украины, проходил службу в отдельном отряде специального назначения «Азов» в качестве начальника медицинского пункта в воинском звании лейтенанта. 17 октября 2024 года приговорён по ч. 2 ст. 205.4 УК РФ («Участие в террористическом сообществе») и ст. 205.3 УК РФ («Прохождение обучения в целях осуществления террористической деятельности») к 18 годам колонии строгого режима. Взят в плен не позже мая 2022 года.
